Actsafe's Arts & Entertainment Safety Conference & Awards Gala (In-person)

2024 marks the seventh year of Actsafe’s annual conference. To ensure that everyone has an equal opportunity to continue learning, we are offering the conference both in-person and virtual to enable the whole BC arts and entertainment industry the ability to access the event remotely. We are excited to bring everyone back together at this hybrid event so we can connect and learn together.

WHO ATTENDS?

Over 300 delegates are anticipated to attend in 2024, including stakeholders from: Motion Picture, Commercials, & Television Productions, Event Production Suppliers, Labour Unions, Health & Safety Organizations, Performing Arts Organizations, Festivals, Live Event Venues, Education Providers, Government AND MORE!

Actsafe acknowledges and respects how difficult the past few years have been for the BC Arts and Entertainment industry workers and employers. As such, the event budget was re-worked many times to ensure ticket prices were set as low as possible, with the goal being break-even/cost-recovery and no profit. Also, in response to strong feedback from the industry and to ensure accessibility, a hybrid event has been planned for the first time ever, offering both an in-person and virtual opportunity for attendance.

Like everything, costs for both in-person and virtual event expenditures have increased. Actsafe's revenue has also been impacted by the volatility of the past few years. However, thanks to our generous sponsors and speakers, we were able to set prices that were significantly lower than the market price for comparable safety conferences in BC.
