Who we need:Reporting to the Associate Director, Student Finance, the Financial Aid Officer is responsible for providing guidance and support to students in navigating the financial aid process. They will help students access and understand various financial aid options, assist with application procedures, and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and policies. This is a hybrid position that requires Saturday availability, with an annual salary range of 45,000 - 50,000 CAD.
What you will do:Provide comprehensive and accurate information to students regarding available financial aid programs, scholarships, grants, and loans.
Assist students in understanding eligibility criteria, application requirements, and deadlines for financial aid programs.
Review and verify financial aid applications, ensuring all required documents and forms are complete and accurate; maintain accurate and confidential student records related to financial aid applications, awards, and disbursements.
Evaluate students' financial information and determine eligibility for different types of financial aid.
Conduct workshops, presentations, and information sessions to educate students and staff about financial aid options, processes, and resources.
Provide excellent customer service by promptly responding to student inquiries, resolving issues, addressing concerns, completing necessary forms, understanding award letters, and managing their financial aid packages.
Collaborate with other departments, such as admissions and registrar, to ensure a seamless and coordinated student experience.Supporting with the completion of the day-to-day responsibilities of the Student Finance team, to support the corporate strategic imperatives.
Contributing to a positive corporate culture that supports equity, inclusion, learning, and wellness.
What you bring:Experience in Student Services, Financial Aid, Collections, or Customer Service
Strong attention to detail, accurate data entry and ability to follow through
Familiarity with financial aid application systems and software
Post-secondary education in a relevant field preferred
Experience working in fast paced settings and ability to handle confidential information
Strong verbal and written communication skills
