Job Description:
Job Summary:
Serves as the first contact in assisting students with obtaining the financial aid support needed to achieve their educational and career goals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide a high level of service to students in need. Respond to various financial assistance inquiries in a timely manner.
Complete institution information for part-time loans and email submission.
Enter applications into the database.
Finalize Appendix 3 Requests for regular full-time students.
updated financial resources with students each term and coordinate bulletins.
Disperse resources regarding student loan applications, interest-free status, and repayment assistance from established and vetted resource banks.
Escalate denials, modified academic plans, disability-related matters, amendments, application corrections, withdrawals, confirmation of enrollment matters, and high-needs students to the Financial Aid Advisor.
Clarify eligibility requirements, review applications for accuracy and completeness, and assess applications.
Manage deferral email requests and liaise with the billing office.
Participate in the review of scholarship awards using established rubrics.
Perform other administrative and front-line coordination tasks as required.
Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
A minimum of one year of experience directly related to student financial assistance or experience working in a private or public post-secondary institution.
Strong computer skills, including proficiency with word processing, data entry, spreadsheets, Outlook, and databases (PeopleSoft, partner portal through BCeID, scheduling software).
A current working knowledge of relevant policies and procedures for provincial and territorial financial aid is an asset but not required. Training will be provided.
Must demonstrate a high level of customer service, attention to detail, and communication skills.
Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality.
Ability to perform job duties with minimal supervision, effectively prioritize work, multi-task, and adjust to changing workloads and deadlines.
Demonstrated experience working with people of diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
Ability to read and interpret operating instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
